    Dr. Mehmet Oz answered:
A congenital mole usually doesn't cause any pain, though it may feel uncomfortable if it is raised and rubs against clothing. Congenital moles often look like common moles. Common moles tend to be small, round, and dark or skin-colored. Some congenital moles may have a blue or gray appearance. In some cases, congenital moles may become very large. A so-called giant congenital nevus (mole) can measure 8 inches or more in diameter. Congenital moles should be checked by a dermatologist.
