    While the word addiction may make you think of smoking, alcohol, cocaine, or methamphetamine, there are many other things-such as gambling, sex, food, and video games-besides these traditional substances that can trigger addictive physiology. All of these behaviors can generate a high level of dopamine, a feel-good chemical, in a couple of distinct areas of the brain, which are known as pleasure centers.
