Stacy Wiegman answered:Seek immediate medical attention if you have any symptoms of an allergic reaction to Caduet: swelling of your tongue, lips, throat, or face; breathing problems; or hives.
Watch for these other serious side effects of Caduet that require the immediate advice of your doctor: uneven, slow, fast or pounding heartbeats; yellow skin or eyes; pain in or a feeling of weight on your chest; pain spreading to your shoulder or arm; lightheadedness or fainting; nausea, stomach pain, or general ill feeling; low fever; loss of appetite; sweating while at rest; dark urine or clay-colored stools; or swelling of your hands or feet.
Caduet may also cause side effects that do not require immediate medical attention. Your doctor may suggest ways to alleviate these side effects, which include mild stomach pain, upset stomach, gas, or diarrhea; warmth or “pins and needles;” drowsiness; dizziness; headache; mild itching or skin rash; diminished sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm.
A small number of people may experience skeletal muscle tissue breakdown, which may result in kidney failure, due to Caduet. Seek the immediate advice of your doctor if have any symptoms of skeletal muscle tissue breakdown: fever or flu symptoms, muscle weakness, unexplained muscle pain or tenderness, or dark urine.
