    Dr. Mehmet Oz answered:

Milia, especially among infants, can go away on their own. However, a doctor's visit might be necessary if the condition persists for more than a few months. Adults who find themselves prone to getting milia can try using noncomedogenic makeup, skin care and beauty products, or foregoing makeup all together. If milia do not go away on their own, your doctor might prescribe a retinoid cream. Or, he or she will remove the bumps using a sterilized lancet and comedone extractor. Other possible medical treatments include acid peels and microdermabrasion.
