You should avoid certain medications and herbal supplements, such as St. John's wort, while taking Incivek (telaprevir) for chronic hepatitis C. The insert you get with your Incivek prescription will list the medications you shouldn't take while on Incivek. To reduce the risk of an interaction, make sure you tell your doctor about all drugs (prescription and over-the-counter) and supplements you take.

You can continue your normal activities, including your general eating habits, while taking Incivek. However, you'll need to eat a high-fat meal or snack within a half hour before you take Incivek. It should contain about 20 grams of fat—the amount in, say, a half-cup of nuts.
