What shoes are good for seniors?

Discovery Health answered:The right shoe and the right fit can prevent a fall. Have your feet measured. Your foot size can change, especially with diabetes or arthritis. It's also important to accommodate foot conditions such as plantar fasciitis, perhaps with shoe inserts, so you can place equal weight on all parts of your feet for sure footing. Avoid slip-on shoes, which can slide around when you walk. Go with a sturdy shoe that has a firm, nonslip sole and laces. Spring laces don't need tying. Velcro fasteners are good also.
