What rights does Privacy Rule provide for protecting health information?
-
UnitedHealthcare answered:You have the right to request and receive a copy of your health records, and health insurers and providers who are covered entities must comply with your request. You also have the right to make corrections to your health information, receive notification about how your health information may be used and shared and decide whether you will grant permission before a covered entity can do so. You can also receive a report on when and why your health information was shared for certain purposes. If you believe your health information is not being protected, file a complaint with your provider or health insurer or file a complaint with the U.S. Government. Check with your health provider or insurer about your rights.
