What are the rarest adrenal gland disorders?

Hyperaldosteronism is one of the rarest adrenal gland disorders. In hyperaldosteronism, the adrenal glands produce too much of the hormone aldosterone. This can cause weakness, high blood pressure, fluid retention, and bouts of paralysis. Pheochromocytoma is another rare adrenal gland disorder. It occurs when a tumor in the adrenal glands causes overproduction of the hormone catecholamines, which helps to regulate blood pressure.
