Radical perineal prostatectomy involves an incision between the scrotum and the anus to remove the prostate. There are very few urologists who do this surgery anymore, but those who do say it causes less pain and incontinence than any other form of surgery for prostate cancer. That being said, there are risks of bleeding, infection, impotence, incontinence and all the other risks of any prostate cancer surgery.
