Dr. Dede Bonner answered:Ask, “Do you trust this doctor enough to send your own family to her?” This question works well whether you are asking a doctor or a friend for a referral. Trust is an intangible quality and not something that is easily earned. Just be aware that the response to this “trust test” question is purely subjective. If you don’t fully trust the person you are getting the referral from, be sure to ask the follow-up question “Why or why not?”
