Academics are not the only difficult task that teenagers with chronic illness face at school. Students in junior and senior high school are expected to take care of their own medical needs at school and to work with school personnel to plan accommodations. This is even more difficult if these have to be negotiated with each teacher. It is better to set up a single plan that applies to all classes.
