How does primary central nervous system lymphoma affect those with HIV?
-
Primary central nervous system lymphoma may progress more rapidly among individuals infected with HIV. The initial symptoms usually consist of seizures and mental changes such as confusion, lethargy, psychosis, and memory loss. This is in contrast to the more limited or localized symptoms (such as hand weakness or facial numbness) seen in persons without HIV. HIV infected persons also tend to have more whole-body symptoms such as fever, night sweats, and weight loss.
