Common side effects of Erivedge (vismodegib), a prescription drug used to treat basal cell skin cancer, include muscle spasms, hair loss and fatigue. Digestive side effects are common, including nausea, diarrhea, decreased appetite, constipation and vomiting.

You may find that food tastes different during treatment or that you lose your sense of taste. You may lose weight. Joint aches have also been reported. Some women may find that their periods stop. If you have side effects that bother you, that you don't understand or that don't go away, talk to your doctor.
