What is obsessive-compulsive personality disorder?
-
Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder is part of the Cluster C group of personality disorders. This group is characterized by anxious and fearful behavior and thinking. People with this disorder are obsessed with control, perfection, and rules. They are very orderly, methodical, and inflexible. Their inflexibility makes them unable to adapt to change. Their caution and desire to weigh every side of an issue leads to inability to make decisions. It is hard for them to complete tasks because they cannot tolerate imperfection or mistakes. They often are high achievers and work in intellectually-demanding fields, but rarely enjoy their success because of anxiety.
