If you choose not to repair a cracked tooth, you may continue to have pain and risk the chance of the crack getting worse. A break or crack in a tooth is not like a broken bone. The tooth will not heal or repair itself. If you do not fix a cracked tooth, the crack may continue to worsen. The inside of your tooth, your surrounding bone, or your gums could become infected. These issues can be so serious that there isn't any option but to pull the tooth. Talk to your dentist about treatment options to fix your cracked tooth before it becomes a serious issue.
