    Not drinking milk and avoiding cheese and other dairy products (perhaps fearing gaining too much weight) is a cause of low bone density. If your child has low bone density for this reason, some simple changes to her diet would help her reverse the damage, strengthen her bones, and avoid the fractures that are common in kids who don’t get enough calcium. Soda, alcohol, high caffeine consumption, some medications, antacids that contain aluminum, calorie restriction, and a lack of exercise are other causes of low bone density.
