A 1-cup serving of spinach has only 41 calories, but it is extremely nutrient-dense. It is an excellent source of vitamin K, carotenes, vitamin C, and folic acid. It is also a very good source of manganese, magnesium, iron, and vitamin B2. In addition, spinach is a good source of vitamins B6, E, and B1.

Spinach is a nutritional powerhouse! It provides more than 100% of your daily requirements for Vitamin A and Vitamin K. I would recommend trying a spinach salad with mandarin oranges, because the Vitamin C from the oranges will help the body absorb iron, another nutrient in spinach. Enjoy!
