    Growth hormone deficiency is the most common pituitary hormone deficiency. Children suffering from this deficiency may have growth retardation and short stature. Adults lacking growth hormone have decreased energy, loss of bone density and thus an increased risk of bone fracture, accumulation of fat and decrease in muscle mass.
