Fructose is the natural sugar in sweet fruits, honey, onions and artichokes. Fructose is also manufactured by treating corn with enzymes, which yields a synthetic honey called "corn sweetener" or "corn syrup." Fructose is used as a sweetener in some soft drinks and fruit drinks.
