  1. Follicular thyroid cancer is the second most common cancer of the thyroid gland. It is slightly more aggressive than more common types of thyroid cancer, but treatment is still possible. Follicular thyroid cancer does not usually spread to lymph nodes, as other types of cancer do, but can spread to the blood stream.
