The brand name versions of estropipate, Ogen and Ortho-Est, are no longer available on the US market. Estropipate is used as a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) by replacing the natural estrogen in women whose ovaries no longer create it. Estropipate is used to treat symptoms of menopause, natural or surgical, such as hot flashes and vaginal dryness, irritation or burning. It is also used to treat vaginal or vulval atrophy and to prevent osteoporosis.
