What is a granuloma?
-
Granulomas are small clumps of inflamed cells that can form on any part of the body and cause symptoms of sarcoidosis. Granulomas are most frequently found in the lungs. Granulomas typically clear up after a few months, but if they persist they may cause scarring or calcification. If granulomas grow large enough, they can interfere with the function of the organ on which they have formed.
