As we age, it is quite common for the brow and forehead area to change - wrinkles and frown lines begin to show. The eyebrows can also fall lower, crowding the eyes.

If you feel uncomfortable with the changes in your brow and forehead, a browlift can raise your brows and thereby lesson the appearance of forehead wrinkles and frown lines. A browlift can also improve the overall appearance of the upper eye, making the eyes appear larger, and more open. The shape of the eyebrows can be made more appealing.

The procedure that your doctor uses for your surgery will depend on your particular physical characteristics.

    Dr. Stuart Linder answered:
A brow-lift is performed to elevate the forehead and upper eyebrow areas. Two methods include open and closed techniques. The open technique or coronal lift involves an incision along anterior hairline while the closed technique uses an endoscope to release the forehead and temporal areas with screw or suture fixation. Patients in there late fourties and early fifties are often good candidates. Alopecia and numbness are the most common complications associated with coronal brow lifts.
