    Dr. Stuart Linder answered:
It is vital that the patient be medically healthy to undergo the liposuction procedure no differently than any other surgery. Patients with history of high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, or other medical conditions should be cleared by a Board Certified Internal Medicine specialist. Appropriate laboratory blood work, ekg, and chest x-rays should be performed as well and reviewed.
