    Stacy Wiegman answered:
If you were to suddenly quit taking methadone, you might develop withdrawal symptoms, such as:
    • runny nose
    • watery eyes
    • yawning
    • sweating
    • chills
    • muscle pain
    • restlessness

Do not stop taking methadone without talking to your doctor first. He will likely have you slowly taper off the drug until you can quit taking it altogether.
