What foods should I avoid on a low-glycemic diet?

    When on a low-glycemic or dysglycemic diet, you should avoid refined white sugar, honey, refined carbohydrates, or any simple sugars, because all of these foods cause a rapid increase in your insulin levels. Avoid all saturated fats (anything that says hydrogenated, or partially hydrogenated) and vegetable oil because these fats have negative effects on your insulin levels. Avoid beef, veal, or pork, because these are very high in saturated fats. Avoid all deep-fried and fried foods. In addition to having the wrong type of fat, many times these foods are breaded, which means bad carbs. Avoid starchy potatoes and pastas, as well as corn and popcorn.
