    Symptoms of too much vitamin D include loss of appetite, weight loss, excessive urination and heartbeat irregularities. These side effects occur almost entirely in people taking megadoses of vitamin D supplements. Although your skin makes vitamin D when it's exposed to sunlight, you can't overdose that way -- when your body has made enough, it stops. Nor is it likely that anyone would get too much vitamin D from food. Experts believe that symptoms of too much vitamin D begin at 10,000 international units (IUs) per day, more than 15 times the recommended daily intake.
