    Pseudoexfoliation is associated with difficulty in dilating the pupil and an increased chance of rupture of the posterior capsule. Although most patients do well, these complications are at times associated with swelling of the center of the retina, retinal detachment, early or late decentration of the lens implant, and glaucoma. If your surgeon knows you have this condition he is well aware of how to minimize complications.
