    Dr. David Vernick answered:
A completely-in-the-canal (CIC) hearing aid is the smallest, least visible hearing aid, about the size of a jellybean, only slimmer. As its name indicates, it fits entirely into the ear canal. Someone looking directly at your ear from the front can't see the hearing aid, although it is visible from a rear, three-quarter view. As with other hearing aids, you take the device out before sleeping.
