What causes social anxiety disorders?
-
The direct cause of social anxiety disorders has not been identified. Many doctors believe that there may be both genetic and environmental components that trigger the excessive anxiety that characterizes these disorders, such as learned behavioral responses to fear. Doctors have also considered other causes, such as neurochemical imbalances and aberrations in brain function.
