Cortical cataracts are one of several types of cataracts. These defects in the focusing lens of the eye can cause blurring and distortion of vision. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to make them go away. Cortical cataracts appear to be somewhat related to UV-light exposure, which is why wearing sunglasses with UV-A and UV-B blocking filtration is advised. If and when your cortical cataracts mature to the point of being obstacles to the clarity of your vision, your ophthalmologist (eye doctor) will likely advise you to undergo cataract surgery.
