What activities should someone with bladder cancer avoid?
-
If you are treating your bladder cancer early in the stages of the disease, you should be able to resume any normal activities once your doctor has given you the go ahead. If your bladder cancer prognosis is good and even if you need to have some extensive surgery and have a urostomy bag, it is possible to resume many of your physical activities as long as you stay on top of the fit and maintenance of the bag. If your weight changes, be sure to stay in touch with a health provider to make any necessary adjustments.
If you have to have chemotherapy or radiation, side effects may prevent you from doing certain activities. Do what you can, but be mindful that you will likely be more tired than usual. The bottom line is, talk to your doctor for guidance.
