  1. Generally, treatments do not specifically target night terrors. If your episodes are related to another condition, then treating that condition may provide relief. If they are due to stress, you can try ways of calming yourself before bedtime. If your night terrors are causing you to hurt yourself or others, or if you have chronically disturbed sleep, your doctor may prescribe medication for an uninterrupted night's rest. Otherwise, simply try to make your living quarters safe for sleepwalking.

Natural treatment options exist, and you may want to investigate them especially for children whom you may not want to medicate with conventional drugs. Usually a professional homeopath can relieve a child’s night terrors with a specific homeopathic remedy individualized to your child, like custom-tailored clothes. Specific suggestions cannot be listed here because the medicine that works is likely to be different for each child. These medicines are safe and gentle yet effective and regulated by the FDA as over-the-counter drugs.

This type of thing is relatively easy for a homeopath to resolve. The way homeopathy works (treating the whole person), your child is likely to improve in other ways which seem totally unrelated to the night terrors, such as temper tantrums, problems in school, tics or twitches, many possible other symptoms which might get better.

Of course the same approach will work for adults with night terrors. Night terrors don’t come out of the blue. They are a manifestation of something else going on deep inside – some trauma or frightening experience or other unbalancing factor. That is why the remedy that relieves the night terrors is likely to have other positive effects in the person’s life.
