    Dr. Arthur Crowley answered:

There are a variety of options for treating erectile dysfunction. Options include:

    • Oral medications (Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, Staxyn)
    • Other medications:
      • Self-injections (e.g., Caverject, Edex, Bi-, Tri-, Quad-mix)
      • Penile suppository (e.g., MUSE)
    • Penile pumps
    • Penile implants (surgery)
    • Penile vascular surgery (rarely performed)

The cause, underlying health issues and risks, severity of condition, patient and partner preferences all play a crucial role in considering the course of treatment. Speak with your healthcare provider because sometimes your current medications can or should be adjusted.
