Joane Goodroe answered:Once you have been evaluated in the emergency room, there are five different things that can happen:

- If you need emergency surgery, you will go straight to surgery.
- If you are critical, you will go to the intensive care unit.
- If the hospital does not provide a certain service you need, you may be transferred to another hospital.
- If you need to be hospitalized for a short time and /or stable, you will go to a hospital room.
