    The main symptom of sphincter of Oddi dysfunction is abdominal pain. You'll usually feel a sharp pain after eating. Nausea and/or vomiting may occur, and it can last several hours. Your pain may also radiate to your back or between your shoulder blades.

    The greatest challenge in diagnosing SODS is that all of its symptoms can be signs of other conditions. So it's critical for you to get a proper diagnosis.
