What are the symptoms of ear disorders in babies?

Keep a close eye on your baby when he or she has a cold. Ear infections, a common ear disorder in babies and children, often occur as the result of a cold or respiratory illness, as fluid can move into the middle ear and cause pain and inflammation. Be on the lookout for other symptoms as well. Common ear infection symptoms include fussiness, increased crying, a fever, or grabbing at the ears. Ear infections can resolve on their own, but if your baby's symptoms continue for more than a day, call your doctor if you have any questions or concerns about your baby's health.
