Symptoms of delirium tremens usually begin within 72 hours of your last drink but may appear anytime within a week to 10 days. Symptoms often come on suddenly and worsen quickly. Your body will shake, you will become agitated, disoriented, and lethargic. Some of the mental symptoms include mood changes, depression, fear, and insomnia, which may be accompanied by hallucinations, and utter mental confusion. Physical changes include sensitivity to light and seizures. Your heart rate will increase, and you will develop a fever.
