What are the symptoms of cerebral astrocytomas?
-
One of the most common symptoms of a cerebral astrocytoma is a severe headache or series of headaches. The headache might be worse when you first wake up in the morning and might make you nauseous or make you vomit. Seizures sometimes occur in people with this type of brain tumor as well. Because cerebral astrocytomas occur in the part of the brain that controls thoughts and emotions, memory loss and behavioral changes are also common symptoms. Other symptoms of a cerebral astrocytoma can vary depending on which part of the cerebrum is affected and can include a sudden inability to process information, lethargy, speech problems, partial paralysis, vision problems, or a loss of smell.
