What surgeries are used to treat the eye cancer ocular melanoma?

Several different types of surgery are available to treat melanoma in the eye, depending on the shape and size of the tumor. Most of the smaller operations involve removing part of the iris, sometimes along with another part of the eye. Removing melanoma tumors from other parts of the eye is more difficult. Sometimes an entire eyeball will be removed, especially if vision in that eye is already at risk.
