Does spastic paralysis affect children differently than adults?

Spastic paralysis is almost always diagnosed in childhood because it is typically either a product of cerebral palsy (which is usually diagnosed a little after age two) or it is due to an inherited trait that will become apparent in childhood. For spastic paralysis caused by the inherited gene, the condition sometimes worsens as the person gets older. They may only experience stiff movements as a child but may require a wheelchair as an older adult. For those afflicted with cerebral palsy, the condition may get better in time as the person learns how to cope with their condition and learns to be more independent.
