Dr. Michael Roizen answered:To jump-start you on your road to weight loss and a healthier life, reduce portion size by dividing your 8-inch (no larger) dinner plate into four sections. One fourth gets whole grains, one half gets veggies and one fourth gets lean protein. No skyscrapers! Also check out these simple tips on how to burn fat faster:- Get EGCG. Green tea's potent polyphenol zaps fat. Harness it with a 500 mg pill daily.
- Move more. Enjoy a morning and afternoon walk. Get into chores. (Making the bed can burn 12 calories and vacuuming the living room can burn 25 calories.) Extra activity creates real weight loss.
- Boost metabolism. Spice up food with chilies to burn more calories.

Jeff Croswell answered:Burning fat is really simple as long as you burn more than you eat. However to stay on track to burn fat make sure you are tracking what you are taking in on food and also what you are burning. Simply getting out there and moving with help. This can be simply just walking during your lunch hour. Spending an hour with your kids and playing with them outdoors. Bottom line all you need to do is finding something that gets you moving and that you enjoy to help you burn those unwanted calories.Helpful? 3 people found this helpfulBurning fat is really simple as long as you burn more than you eat. Alicen Ronan answered:When you want to burn fat you really need to burn calories and burning calories is as easy as adding more movement to your day. There are tons a little things you can do that can boost your movement throughout the day. Start by monitoring your steps through the use of a pedometer. Aim for 10,000 steps, but don't get discouraged if you aren't there yet. Simply add a little more walking each day until you reach that goal. Parking further away from your destination, walking during breaks and lunch at work and even taking an extra lap around the mall are all ways to increase your steps. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator is another great way to boost your caloric burn. Don't forget that fun activities like running around with your kids at the park, going dancing or playing recreational sports will also contribute to burning calories. Any activity that raises your heart rate will count towards burning extra calories so get out there and get moving! When you want to burn fat you really need to burn calories and burning calories is as easy as adding more movement to your day. Deb Froehlich answered:The theory behind burning fat is pretty simple. Being that essentially, fat is a form of stored energy. Then in order to lose fat, all you have to do is burn more energy than you take in so your body will tap into those stored energy cells to function.
However, just because it's simple doesn't mean it's going to be easy. The fat didn't appear overnight and if you want to keep it off, it's not going to leave you overnight either.
But, just as Joel and Dr. Oz demonstrated in the featured video, there are many un-complicated exercises that can be done that will expend energy and help you build more lean tissue (muscle uses more energy than fat), so you'll be able to use up more fuel than you take in.
Also be sure not to forget about the food part of the equation. Eat a little or if your eating was way out of control, considerably less real un-processed food and you'll be burning fat before you know it.
The simple equation for fat loss then is: Move more + eat real food - processed food + eat a little less than you burn = Fat Loss.
