Common side effects include throat problems such as difficulty swallowing, cough, changes in your voice, soreness or achiness, skin reactions or color change, red facial welts, fatigue, congestion, fever, swollen neck glands, and headache. These generally do not require a doctor visit unless they become severe. More serious side effects include pain or itching in hairy areas; infected hair follicles; pain or burning where applied; weak or thinning skin; hair loss; unexpected bruises; severe skin reactions or color change; crusty or oozing rash; and thinning hair. If you experience these or other worrisome side effects see a doctor as soon as possible. If there are signs of serious allergic reaction, such as labored breathing, chest pain, or facial swelling, seek medical assistance immediately.
