Should I talk to my doctor about a stye?

Your stye may not need a doctor's attention. Often, styes rupture and clear up on their own within a matter of days. If you have a stye that has lasted for over a week, is on the inside of your eyelid, or seems to be getting worse, you should contact your doctor. Your doctor can drain the pus in the stye or prescribe antibiotics to help clear up the underlying infection.
