Who should not take fentanyl buccal tablet?

Do not use fentanyl buccal tablet if you are allergic to any ingredient in this drug. Fentanyl buccal tablet should not be used if you are intolerant to opioid medications. Consult your doctor about whether you are tolerant to this medicine. Do not use if breastfeeding. Ask your doctor if it is appropriate to use while you are pregnant. Do not use it if you have taken a medication known as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), such as phenelzine (Nardil), selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam), isocarboxazid (Marplan), rasagiline (Azilect) or tranylcypromine (Parnate) within the past two weeks. Tell your doctor if have a brain tumor or head injury, breathing problem, low blood pressure, mental illness, seizures, a history of alcohol or drug problems or liver or kidney disease. Keep this medication away from children and pets. The amount of medication in this tablet could be lethal to a pet or child who accidentally swallows or sucks on it.
