The fight to end childhood obesity begins with adults. If you feel like your child may be obese talk to a pediatrician. They can map out an individualized weight assessment and if necessary, work with you to create a personal treatment plan. A healthy family is a blessing that comes with responsibility, as a nation, we need to step up.

If you suspect that your son or daughter is overweight or obese, we highly recommend that you follow up with your pediatrician. Some kids might need more help or may not be able to lose weight without medical supervision. Your pediatrician will be able to perform additional laboratory tests to accurately assess your child’s health. In addition, he or she can recommend an RD (registered dietitian) to help you fine tune your family’s eating and physical activity habits.
