Instant protein is a food supplement that has few side effects if you take it as directed, to add protein into your diet that your body naturally requires. But too much protein in your diet can be harmful to your kidneys. You should not take more instant protein than is recommended. Your kidneys filter the by-products from protein breaking down. The by-products can be harmful to you and high amounts of protein cause your kidney to have to work harder. Extra protein can also cause you to gain more body mass and is not recommended for people looking to lose weight.
