An RGA test involves a standard hand x ray that is used to calculate bone density in the rest of the body. The radiation exposure is minimal and safe, and the test involves no pain or discomfort. After the x ray is taken, it is sent to a center that calculates your bone density and returns your results, also called a T-score, to your doctor.
