Usually, early stage lung cancer is a curable disease with either surgical or chemotherapy and radiation. However, if the lung cancer is at stage 4 and therefore metastatic, it is usually noncurable. However, with current advances in oncology, we are able to treat more and more patients with advanced lung cancer and prolong their survival.
