    Long-term use of Symbicort, which contains a steroid, can lead to bone loss. You can lessen your chances of getting bone loss if you avoid smoking cigarettes, get regular exercise and get enough vitamin D and calcium in your diet. Your doctor may monitor your bone loss with bone density tests.
